Ferrari 348 TB (1992)
Low mileage, 1 owner and completely original

The value of the Ferrari 348 models are on the rise. The neat original examples with low mileage are the most attractive cars.

The Ferrari 348 designed by Pininfarina is a sports car that was produced in Maranello from 1989 until 1995. The two-seater, mid-engined Ferrari was introduced in 1989 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The car replaced the Ferrari 328 and was followed by the F355.

The body lines of the 348 are derived from its predecessor the Ferrari 328. The body also has influences of the contemporary produced Ferrari Testarossa. The radiators were moved from the front to the sides, the same is done on the Testarossa. Because of their resemblance the Ferrari 348 is often called the little brother of the Ferrari Testarossa. The biggest changes were to be found under the bonnet. There Ferrari placed a 3.4 liter V8 engine which is coupled to a transverse manual 5-speed transmission. This engine produces 300 bhp and gives the light Ferrari a top speed of 275 km/h. The sprint from 0-100 km/h is done in 5.6 seconds.

The name of the Ferrari’s of the ‘80’s and ‘90’s tell a lot about which engine and gearbox are implemented. The Ferrari 348 TB has a 3.4 L V8 engine (hence the 348). The ‘T’ indicates the transverse gearbox (Italian: Trasversale). The second letter represents the exterior styling. ‘B’ for Berlinetta (coupé) and ‘S’ for Spider (targa).

In total, more than eight thousand 348’s were built; 2895 TB’s, 4230 TS version and 1090 fully open convertibles from 1993. Furthermore the 348 gained a few subtle changes in 1993 including more power. The engine produced 320 hp with the same displacement. The face lifted models are recognizable by their different names 348 GTB / GTS.
